Announcement of our 2010 Candidates!
The Constitution Party of Maryland completed its formal nomination process on July 17, 2010. The State Central Committee proudly announced the unanimous nomination of all ten candidates for public office who sought the party’s nod to the upcoming General Election ballot in November.
The party has maintained ballot access since the 2008 presidential bid by party nominee Chuck Baldwin and prides itself as a ‘party of principles.’ The 2010 candidates were being led by candidate for Governor, Eric D. Knowles. Knowles answered the call for strong responsible state leadership which has been lacking in both of the presumed leaders in the two-party monopoly. Knowles said, “I had hoped that a hero would come along and save us all from the confusing and oppressive paradigm that has slowly crept up around us and is strangling out the last traces of our liberty. I have to be that hero - for myself, for my daughter and for all those who have lost their voice in a sea of apathy and despair.” Party Chairman and candidate for the House of Delegates in Legislative District 34B, Michael Dawson, recalls the growth of the party and expresses his delight in seeing the strong field of candidates assembled. Dawson asserts, “We are poised to take advantage of the discontent in both major parties. Theses candidates have declared their willingness to stand in the gap – to intercede on behalf of Marylanders against an over-reaching, over-arching Federal tyranny and a weak-willed State government.” Michael Reed, who challenged Roscoe Bartlett in the 6th Congressional District, spoke of his desire to take his place on the House floor to rise in protest of much of what occurs in Congress. “I love to write, and I would love to draw up impeachment papers on anyone who does not protect and defend our Constitution.” Current party vice chairman Mike Hargadon reiterated the seven principles of the Party: Life, Liberty, Family, Property, the Constitution, State’s Rights and American Sovereignty. Hargadon, who received nearly 50,000 votes in his 2008 bid for the 7th Congressional District challenging incumbent Elijah Cummings, was successfully nominated as Lieutenant Governor. Hargadon stressed the need for a strong state leader. Expressing great disappointment, he recalled the political support former Gov. Bob Ehrlich gave to 2008 GOP presidential nominee John ‘pro-amnesty, pro-too big to fail’ McCain, at a campaign stop here in Maryland. It is just this misguided party loyalty that has plagued conservative politics in Maryland. He concluded, “If you are looking for a strong state constitutional leader, look to Knowles!” Following is the complete list of the Constitution Party candidates for the 2010 General Election and the official results of their respective races: Eric Delano Knowles – Governor of the State of Maryland – 8,612 votes (0.46%)

Governor of MarylandEric Delano Knowles
I am a 32-year-old father of one beautiful daughter, Veteran of the Air Force and currently working as a bartender in Annapolis. Born in Suitland, MD, my family eventually moved to Churchton, MD where we remained until graduating from Southern Senior High School. I have attended Frederick Community College, and am currently enrolled in Anne Arundel with plans to transfer to University of Maryland to continue my education even after I serve the people of Maryland as their Governor.
My goal is to demand the Federal, State, and local government to once again respect the Constitution that is still the law of the land - even though they apparently have forgotten, or willfully neglect, this fact. I believe the problems we have seen slowly arise around us during this past century are merely symptoms of our straying from the Constitution and the legacy of the Founding Fathers' wisdom. Those who do not study history are bound to repeat the mistakes of the past, and we have come nearly full circle to the level of tyranny that existed at the time of our nation's birth. Great men of conscience chose then to do something about it, that we could partake in that which no other nation on earth had ever experienced - true Freedom and Liberty. I, for one, will have no less for my child and all the children of this nation. This is our responsibility as parents, and our duty as citizens of this great nation. Contact Information:
Lieutenant GovernorMichael Hargadon
I am happy to belong to a political party that espouses the principles of Life, Liberty, Family, Property, Constitution, State’s Rights and American Sovereignty. Each one of these principles is under attack in our country. It is essential that we, at the state level, rekindle a passion for self rule. Not federal! Not international! I was most honored last election, when as a congressional candidate, I received an endorsement by Congressman Ron Paul. I look forward to helping Eric Knowles restore our great state, as we take-up the cause of adhering to our constitution.
The very first article of our Maryland Constitution says it best: “We the people of the state of Maryland …declare: That all Government of right originates from the People, is founded in compact only, and instituted solely for the good of the whole; and they have, at all times, the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their Form of Government in such manner as they may deem expedient.” Contact Information: Website: http://www.Hargadon4LtGovernor.com/ United States SenateRichard Shawver

Greatly provoked to run by the great swindle most people recognize as TARP, his policy outlook is akin to the nation-building Whigs, replace responsible tariff protection, promote the cutting edge technology/industry and let free enterprise take care of the rest. Reinstall Glass-Steagal to make investment invest in something physical instead of gambling paper.
He also would pull back much of the Health Care bill, promoting instead the building of new hospitals and clinic centers. His energy independence policy would make Nuclear Power the centerpiece. He is committed to pulling our soldiers home from overseas entanglements by the most speedily of means.

Maryland House of Delegates - District 31Cory Faust, Sr. I am 22 years old, currently serving in the US Army Reserves. I am currently employed in the Intelligence Community as well, and am the proud father of a precious son. I have lived in Anne Arundel County for the past 16 years. I have about two years of college under my belt and am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Intelligence Operations. As a student of history, I understand we are doomed to repeat the past mistakes unless the fire of sacrifice, duty and diligence is kept burning. Today our government is led by what I like to call corporate parties. The Democrats and Republicans have failed the people miserably and that is why the Constitution Party is the only vote that will not be wasted. We are working tirelessly to bring the country back from the brink of tyranny and collapse, to re-establish the Constitution as the Law of the Land, and to guarantee the Rights which the government has taken from us.
